Murray Visscher has performed a wide variety of music for audiences in Canada and the United States. Although his formal education is primarily in Classical music, his diverse background has put him on stage with jazz performers such as Ian MacDougall and Juno award winner Hugh Fraser. Notable performances include the premier live radio broadcast of Steve Reich's "Electric Counterpoint", an event that featured American guitarist David Tanenbaum as soloist. Murray holds degrees from Western Washington University and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He is in demand as a performer and educator, and is currently on the faculty of Mount Royal College Conservatory in Calgary. He has also served on the faculties of the Victoria Conservatory of Music, the Nanaimo Conservatory, and Okanagan College. |
